What happens when you get caught, and how to get out.

The basics

  • There are three ways to land in jail, and each one sends you for 15 minutes with no fine:
    • Selling a drug. If you're caught, you lose everything you were selling and get nothing. See Effects for the three risk options.
    • Getting caught on /crime. You lose your Balaclava.
    • Killing an endangered animal on /hunt. There's a 50% chance rangers catch you, and they confiscate the kill. See Hunt.
  • While you're in jail you can't use any Economy command: no hunting, mining, buying, selling, crafting, gambling and so on. The same goes for those actions on the website.
  • Four commands stay open: /jail time, /jail list, /jail bail and /jail escape.
  • Every time you're caught goes on your criminal record, grouped by charge (for example Robbery (x5)). It shows under the Criminal Record button on /profile view and on the Stats tab of your website profile, and only once you have something on it. Failing a jail escape counts as Attempted Escape. Private profiles keep it hidden.
  • Nothing else is taken from you beyond what's listed above. You keep your Bucks, your items and your cooldowns keep running.

The commands

Ways out

  • Wait it out. The 15 minutes pass and you're free. It costs nothing.
  • Pay bail. 20,000 Bucks and you're out immediately. You're asked to confirm first.
  • Escape. It's a gamble, and it uses up part of a Nail File. See below.

Escaping

  • You need a Nail File (5,000 Bucks in the shop). Every attempt wears it down by 5 HP, and a Nail File has 25 HP.
  • You file through the wall in stages. On Discord that's five clicks of the File the wall button. On the website you drag the Nail File across the wall (hold and drag with a mouse, or drag your finger on a phone).
  • When you break through there's a 35% chance nobody notices and you're free.
  • Otherwise a guard catches you and adds 5 more minutes to your sentence, each time.
  • If your Nail File breaks before you're through, the attempt ends. Your sentence doesn't change.

The Convict outfit

The Convict outfit isn't sold in the shop any more. The only way to get it is to escape from jail. You only earn it the first time, and you can wear it from /clothing.
