Variables

Drop any of these into a message template and CITY fills them in when the message is actually sent.

Member

{user}

The new member's Discord username.

{user_id}

The new member's user ID.

{user_nickname}

The new member's nickname in this server (falls back to their username if they don't have one).

{user_mention}

Pings the new member.

{user_created}

The date the new member's Discord account was created.

{user_join}

The date the new member joined this server.

{user_avatar}

The new member's avatar image.

Inviter

{inviter}

The username of whoever invited the new member. Shows "Vanity Link" if they joined through the server's vanity URL instead of a specific invite, or "Unknown" if it couldn't be determined at all.

{inviter_nickname}

The inviter's nickname in this server.

{inviter_mention}

Pings the inviter.

{inviter_avatar}

The inviter's avatar image. Blank if they joined through a vanity URL or the inviter couldn't be determined.

Server

{server}

This server's name.

{server_id}

This server's ID.

{server_icon}

This server's icon image.

{server_banner}

This server's banner image (blank if the server doesn't have one).

{server_members}

The server's current member count. This includes both users and bots.

{server_bots}

The amount of bots in the server.

{server_users}

The amount of users in the server.

{server_created}

The date this server was created.

{server_region}

No longer meaningful. Discord retired per-server voice regions years ago (they're per-voice-channel now). Kept for compatibility; always resolves to "N/A".

Owner

{owner}

The server owner's username.

{owner_mention}

Pings the server owner.

{owner_nickname}

The server owner's nickname in this server.

{owner_id}

The server owner's user ID.

{owner_avatar}

The server owner's avatar image.

Message

{channel}

Mentions the channel the message is being sent to. Only meaningful when sending to a channel, not a DM.

{everyone}

Pings @everyone.

{here}

Pings @here.

Random

{random:option1;option2;option3}

Picks one option at random every time the message is sent. Separate each option with a semicolon, e.g. {random:imagelink1.png;imagelink2.png;imagelink3.png}.

{random_result}

Reuses whatever a {random:...} elsewhere in the same message already picked, instead of rolling again. Handy for using the same random pick in two places (e.g. the message content and an embed's image).

Temp Channels

These two are specific to the room-naming template in the Temp Channels dashboard tab, not the message templates above - they won't do anything in a Welcome Message or similar.

{username}

The room creator's Discord username. Default template is {username}'s Room.

{increment}

The lowest free room number for that portal, filling gaps left by deleted rooms instead of always counting up (e.g. if rooms 1, 3, and 4 exist, the next one made is 2).
